Dr. Porkenstein a.k.a. Alex Cothell, a Grand Champion at Bloomington , Il this year held a class on smoking ribs at The Backyard Barbecue Store. Despite some cold temps Alex instructed 16 people on the right way to smoke ribs. We also had a special guest
Joe Spera from Al's Market, 1165 Wilmette Ave in Wilmette cuts up the prime loin for the class. Joe shows the class where we get all the different cuts and then we grill them on both charcoal and gas.
Alex Cothell a.k.a. Dr. porkenstein recently visited us for the first stop on his BBQ series that we are doing in conjunction with Oakton Community College. First stop was Kansas City.
This summer we fortunate enough to have Dr. Porkenstein and KRE Smokers hold a class on low and slow BBQ at our store. Alex and Keith with their wives both won Grand Championship's this summer.
